Holly: Producer Ambika Hinduja busy with her wedding Just five days of shooting left for Amitabh Bachchan starrer "Teen Patti" and it has been put on hold. Reason? Producer Ambika Hinduja is getting married on Feb 15 to her restaurateur boyfriend Raman Macker in the Maldives. All other activities related to Hinduja's life too have been put on hold, much to the director Leena Yadav's dismay. The grand wedding stretches itself into a good one month of celebrations. Speaking on Leena's behalf, her husband Aseem Bajaj, who's the cinematographer of "Teen Patti", said: "It's true Ambika is getting married after a fairytale romance. And we've all put aside the film for now until the event. The wedding is on Feb 15. But the celebrations go on way beyond." "Teen Patti" is Leena's second directorial venture, which also stars R. Madhavan. For the film, Leena has one significant casting to do. It's a pivotal but small role requiring a Caucasian actor. But all that comes after the wedding. Until then the film remains incomplete by just five days with the director biting her nails in suspense as the new actor's dates would have to be synchronised with the Big B and R. Madhavan's dates. "It's a bit tricky and complicated. Getting a white-skinned actor at this last stage of the film won't be easy. Websites aren't making it easier for us by telling the world that we've cast Pierce Brosnon in the role. Where did he come in? We haven't started considering anyone yet. We will think of who to cast only after Ambika returns from her honeymoon," said Aseem. Leena debuted with Aishwarya Rai and Sanjay Dutt starrer "Shabd". Our UK sources have confirmed another big Hollywood star roped in to share screen space with our one and only Big B. It seems that the presence of our mighty, legendary and iconic actor is surely pulling the crowd from L.A. The West meets the East season continues with gears changing thick and fast on the celluloid track, and the one to win the race this time around is the humanitarian and actor, Richard Gere. You heard it right! Hollywood's favourite lover boy of the late 80's and early 90's is all set to share screen space in his first Bollywood film this year alongside Amitabh Bachchan. If the current reports are to go by than the 2 powerhouse performers - Sir Ben Kingsley & Amitabh Bachchan are all set to share the screen space together in this Leena Yadav directed film. And this would be for the first time Big B & Sir Ben Kingsley will be seen in the same frame. Quite a delight for the fans must say! Apart from Big B it also stars Madhavan, Boman Irani, Mahesh Manjrekar, Ajay Devgan, Raima Sen essentially. The film will also introduce Shakti Kapoor's daughter Shraddha Kapoor. TEEN PATTI is a contemporary thriller set in an engineering college. Jha, July 6, 2009 - 10:38 IST Thanks to Ajay Devgan, one of our most talented cinematographers, Aseem Bajaj, was in England this June to shoot an independent British film. "It's a British production called The Dreaming Spires directed by Shamim Sarif. It's about the first American boy Joseph Connors who came to Oxford University to serve as a reader to a blind British female professor," says Aseem who has served as DOP to Bollywood films as varied as Chameli and Golmaal. And to think the Dreaming Spires might have never happened for Aseem! He explains, "After U Me Aur Hum, I was supposed to shoot Ajay Devgan's next directorial project. But now he's busy with Rohit Shetty's and Milan Luthria's films. He's also doing Priyadarshan's next. So that left the rest of the year free for me." Earlier Aseem had served as DOP on Shamim Sarif's I Can't Think Straight, a semi-autobiographical film about lesbianism which starred Lisa Ray and Sheetal Sheth. "But that was a partly Indian film in the sense that it dealt with the life of Indian characters. The Dreaming Spires has no Indian characters." This time the casting was far more impeccable. Says Aseem, "In I Can't Think Straight, the accents of the two principal leads were all wrong. This time we're being very careful. Since The Dreaming Spires is an independent production, the budget is merely 200,000 pounds. So we couldn't afford big stars." Aseem, who's currently shooting his wife Leena Yadav's Teen Patti, is naturally kicked about the British project. "I don't know whether I'm the first Indian DOP doing a full-fledged British production. But other DOPs like Madhu Ambat and Santosh Sivan have shot international projects. I'm happy to join their ranks," says Aseem who has recently shot a short-film on child abuse. "It's an 18-minute British film on child abuse as seen through the eyes of a 21-year old man, who has grown up with memories of murdering his mother and crucifying his abusive father. He kills both the parents because while the father abused him the mother would watch and even encourage the abuse." The film entitled Dissociation is directed by a young filmmaker Ish Thapar who's the son of the famed documentary maker Navin Thapar. Says Aseem, "The film is obviously based on a real life incident. When I asked the director, he said it was a friend's story. I'm just happy doing something that talks about a very real incident and how it scars the individual." А вот сам Асим
